My name is Tuyet Choi, OTR/L, and I’m the founder of Marin Post Stroke Concierge Care. I’ve been an occupational therapist for over 15 years, working with stroke survivors and their families across Marin and the San Francisco Bay Area. But in 2023, the work I’ve dedicated my life to became deeply personal—when my husband suffered a severe stroke.

That moment changed everything.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just a therapist—I was a wife, a caregiver, a coordinator, an advocate. I experienced firsthand how life after stroke can upend not only the survivor’s life but also the lives of their loved ones, especially when family is not nearby or available to provide consistent support. Navigating the healthcare system, managing home modifications, scheduling therapies, making decisions under stress—it was overwhelming, even for someone with clinical expertise.

What made a difference for us was having a clear, confident plan of care—and someone who understood the road ahead. My professional background gave me the tools to ease my husband’s transition home, support his recovery, and reassure our circle of friends and family that he was in capable hands.

That journey is what inspired me to create Marin Post Stroke Concierge Care.
